Red Snapper Season Delivers Despite Challenging June Weather

June 23, 2026
Two anglers displaying red snapper caught during an offshore fishing trip near Pensacola Beach

June has been a challenging month weather-wise in Pensacola Beach, with wind and storms limiting the number of days we’ve been able to get offshore. The good news is that when conditions have allowed us to get on the water, the fishing has been well worth the wait!

With red snapper season open, snapper have been our primary target offshore and have provided plenty of action for anglers looking to take home some of the Gulf’s most sought-after fish. We’ve also seen a few quality mangrove snapper mixed in, adding even more variety to recent trips.

June is also one of our favorite times of year for king mackerel, and we’re continuing to see opportunities whenever weather windows line up. These fast, hard-fighting fish are always a welcome addition to the day’s catch.

Closer to shore, inshore fishing has remained steady with speckled trout leading the action. We’ve also found the occasional flounder and redfish, keeping anglers guessing about what might show up next.

As we move deeper into summer, we’re looking forward to more favorable weather and even more opportunities both inshore and offshore. If you’ve been thinking about getting out on the water, now is a great time to experience some of the best fishing Pensacola Beach has to offer.

Until Next Time!
