Pensacola Beach Fishing Report – April 2026

Spring fishing is in full swing here in Pensacola Beach, and April has delivered some seriously consistent action both inshore and out in the Gulf.

As the water temperatures continue to rise, bait has moved in, fish are feeding aggressively, and the spring spawn has a lot of species fired up. One of the biggest highlights this month has been the return of the Spanish mackerel. They’ve shown up in strong numbers, providing fast-paced action and making for a great target for families, first-timers, and anglers who simply want to stay bent.

Out in the Gulf, the bite has been just as impressive. We’ve been seeing excellent numbers of vermilion snapper, along with a very steady mangrove snapper bite. Mixed in with those fish, we’ve also been putting quality triggerfish and lane snapper in the boat, keeping the coolers honest and the action steady.

Looking ahead, this is one of our favorite times of year to fish the Gulf Coast. We expect the bite to stay strong, with king mackerel starting to show up any time now, and the excitement around red snapper season building as June gets closer.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a trip, now’s a great time to get on the calendar.
