May brought steady action around Pensacola Beach, with speckled trout leading the way on many of our inshore trips. Trout fishing remained productive throughout the month, especially around grass flats, points, and other inshore structure where fish were actively feeding.
We’ve also started seeing encouraging signs offshore. A few king mackerel have already been caught and spotted around the Pensacola Beach Pier, giving us plenty of reason to be excited as offshore fishing opportunities continue to improve heading into summer.

Weather conditions were generally favorable throughout the month, with light to moderate south-southwest winds and many days offering manageable 2-3 foot seas. While scattered afternoon showers made occasional appearances, anglers were still able to enjoy plenty of time on the water and consistent fishing action.
As water temperatures continue to rise and summer patterns take shape, we’re looking forward to even more opportunities both inshore and offshore in the weeks ahead. If you’re planning a trip to Pensacola Beach this summer, now is a great time to get out on the water and experience the action for yourself.
